These dog friendly beaches in Cornwall offer a variety of facilities, places to eat and relax. These vary from sandy, accessible, family friendly bays to secluded rocky coves more ideal for adventurous travellers.


Crantock Beach

The stunning Crantock Beach welcomes dogs all year round with no restrictions. Crantock is a National Trust beach and water bowls for dogs are available when staff are present. There is a car park, toilets and a cafe. The beautiful sandy beach is perfect for sandcastles, surfing and for pups to explore - but be careful of adders roaming the dunes. The nearby Old Albion Inn welcomes dogs.

Lantic Bay

Lantic Bay is a dog-friendly beach in Cornwall, welcoming dogs all year round. It is a quiet spot, with pure white sands and turquoise waters. However there are no lifeguards and the beach isn’t very accessible for anyone with mobility issues. You can only access the bay via uneven paths and a steep slope and steps. The historic Ship Inn in Fowey is dog friendly and offers excellent pub grub in a relaxed atmosphere.

Dogs are allowed on Perranporth beach all year round. During July and August, however, they are required to be on a lead between 10am and 5pm on the main beach area. But there are still the sand dunes and the rest of the beach after flat rocks where they can be let off their leads. Cliffs and sand dunes back the beach. Scattered rock pools, caves and a stream which flows down to the sea are fun places to explore. The beach has a car park and toilets. The Watering Hole, Britain's oldest bar on a beach, welcomes dogs on leads.


Fistral Beach

Fistral Beach is a dog friendly bay in Newquay, Cornwall. Furry friends are welcome all year round at this wide, golden sandy beach, perfect for running and playing. There's a 250 space car park, surf centre, toilets and golf course, making it a fantastic family destination. The nearby Fistral Beach Bar offers ocean views, a stunning terrace and water bowls for pups.

Watergate Bay Beach

Watergate Bay Beach is a fantastic location for dog owners and walkers in Cornwall. Dogs are welcome all year round, with no seasonal restrictions. Two miles of golden sands are backed by rugged cliffs and offer the perfect place for pooches to play. Watergate has two car parks and is accessible to wheelchair users.

After a fun day of playing on the beach, head to the Beach Hut. This sustainable dog friendly eatery is friendly and relaxed, with pups welcome throughout.

Trevaunance Cove

Trevaunance Cove, in St Agnes, is a dog friendly beach all year round - they just ask that dogs are kept on leads in summer. Bracketed by towering cliffs, this gorgeous cove makes for an amazing family day out. It features caves, rock pools and lifeguards in summer. There's a small car park, beach shop, cafe and restaurant at the cove. The nearby Driftwood Spars is a charming historic pub, built from salvaged shipwrecks in the 1650s. This dog friendly Cornwall pub also offers accommodation.

Holywell Bay Beach

Holywell Bay is a wonderful dog friendly beach in Newquay. Water bowls, dog bins and dog friendly walks are available. There is a car park, toilet and seasonal lifeguard cover. There's an accessible toilet and Blue Badge parking, but uneven ground and poor phone signal. The Treguth Inn is a pet friendly, 13th Century thatched pub right by the bay. Visitors have reported that water bowls and treats are available.

Prussia Cove

Prussia Cove is a secluded rocky beach, perfect for exploring and dog walking. It is dog friendly all year round and has a romantic history as a smugglers hideaway. It was rumoured that half the brandy in Britain arrived through Prussia Cove. It's austere in terms of facilities and there are no lifeguards, so it's worth being careful. Afterwards, refresh yourself at the Coach and Horses inn, a nearby dog friendly pub known for its roast dinners.

Porthcurnick

Porthcurnick Beach, in Trewithian is a beautiful hidden gem that welcomes dogs. It's a south east facing sandy cove with clear waters, set in an AONB and sheltered by cliffs. Parking and toilets are available. If you want to get lunch afterwards, see if you can find the Hidden Hut. This dog friendly cafe serves simple, fresh dishes every lunchtime. It isn't licensed, but you can bring a bottle - and they have ice cream.
