Spaniards Inn
Lots of places in Hampstead are dog-friendly, mainly because it’s hard to find someone in Hampstead or Highgate without a dog. The Spaniard’s Inn always welcome dogs, you are able to wash your dog before you sit down in case they enjoyed their muddy walk a bit too much. They also have hooks on the walls to secure your dog whilst you eat, and have a range dog treats to keep your pup happy. It was built in 1985 as a tollgate on the Finchley boundary and is a great place to go after dog walking in Highgate. They recently hosted a charity raffle or dogs to raise money for the charity All Dogs Matter!
The Lord Palmerston
The Lord Palmerston is a lovely dog-friendly gastropub with a great menu. Their chef is always on hand to provide a treat and a bowl of water for your pup which is a lovely touch.
The Wells Tavern
The Wells Tavern is known to be very dog friendly, there are often more dogs that people in this pub. They have a doggy menu which offers Lily’s Kitchen dry food and water bowls on tap. The ground floor have adopted a no lead policy letting your dog roam around making friends with the bar staff and other pooches.
The Bull and Last
Bull and Last are also very welcoming of dogs. They allow them in the bar area where they also hand out marrow bones and pigs ears for any dogs who have behaved well on their walk and are in need of a treat.
Gaucho
The Gaucho go above and beyond to be dog friendly by hosting an event on the first Sunday of every month. When booking a table, it must be made under the dog’s name so that they can prepare the personalised dog bowl and have the red carpet ready. Your dog can tuck into a selection of beef or chicken pastries made by their chef whilst you can treat yourself to Sunday Lunch. It is free to take your dog, and for every dog in attendance, £5 is donated to Battersea Cats and Dogs Home. They also have an agility course in their garden and hand out goodie bags filled with treats and toys for your pup.
