Hampstead, often known as Hampstead Village, is located in the North West in the London Borough of Camden. Known for its artistic, musical and literary associations. When people think of Hampstead, they instantly think of Hampstead Heath, but there are lots of other lovely places to go for dog walks in Hampstead with your borrowed or owned pup.
Hampstead Heath
Hampstead Heath is one of the cities largest green spaces with woods, lakes and hills and is the perfect spot to take your dog for a long walk at the weekend. It feels like you are escaping the hustle and bustle of the city for a peaceful walk around 320 acres of land. Every time you go, it feels like you are visiting somewhere new as there are so many hidden spots. You can find Kenwood House, a former stately home, to stop for tea and cake, or lunch outside. If you want an amazing view of the city, you can climb up Parliament Hill. It is steep, but definitely worth doing whilst walking a dog.
Waterlow Park
Waterlow Park is located just by Highgate Cemetery and is a 20 acre green. It is ideal for when you want to walk a dog in Highgate without having to face the vastness of Hampstead Heath. There are three historic ponds to make you walk more scenic whilst looking out for wildlife other than dogs!
Highgate Wood
Highgate Wood is a quiet haven for dog walks in Highgate. With 28 hectares of ancient woodland, there are thousands of wildlife to be seen from butterflies to bats. There is also large open spaces for those never ending games of fetch!
