Haldon Forest Park
There is something for everyone at Haldon Forest Park. With 3500 acres to explore, varied routes and maps at the entrance to help you decide if you want a shorter walk for those dogs with little legs or a big adventure. With lots of off lead areas for your pup to run around in and a cafe along the way to refuel, we highly recommend it if you are looking for new dog walks in Exeter.
Hele Bay
If your pup loves to run around on a sandy beach and swim, then Hele Bay is the place to go to walk a dog in Exeter. Just over an hour drive from Exeter, why not make a day of it? Unlike a lot of beaches, they allow dogs all year round to run around the small cove. Don’t forget to bring a ball to throw into the sea for them to encourage them to swim and cool off on a warm day! There are lots of rock pools for the kids to explore and a cafe to refuel, what more do you need?
Dartmoor National Park
A short drive out of Exeter, this is definitely the place to go if you are looking for an extra long weekend walk. With 368 square miles of heather-covered moorland to explore, you will not be disappointed if you are a dog walker in Exeter. You will come across lots of cattle, sheep and ponies so do keep your pup on the lead so they aren’t disturbed, but feel free to let them off elsewhere. Dogs are also welcome inside the National Park centres and water is always provided for them.
